Lancaster's Legends Victorious in Opener!

  • The 3.5 Adult guys did it again in the opener against Chagrin Valley cruising to a 4 courts to 1 victory.
  • Lars easily handled his first singles opponent 6-4, 6-1. Todd and Ron won easily 6-2,6-4 at first dubs. Steve and Joe sliced and diced their way to a 6-2,6-1 win at second while Rick and Chuck won easily 6-1, 6-2.
  • And then there was Egon! He went toe to toe with his opponent, playing through an injury in the first set and winning 6-4. The second set ended in a tiebreaker at 6-7.
  • The match breaker was a battle of epic proportions with the opponents matching each other shot for shot until the end. Egon fell just short and took a tough loss.
  • That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Next week is away at Northridge. See you on the courts!

Dick gets ready to serve an ace!
The 2006 Senior 3.5 NEOTA Champion, aka Lancaster's Legends made their 2007 debut with a 3-0 victory over Five Seasons. John and Egon won 0 and 3 at first while Dick and Joe struggled at first but the dominated for a 4 and 0 straight set victory at third. Jay and Frank cruised in set one and barely avoided a third set tiebreak breaking their opponents in the ninth game to take a 5-4 lead and the Guru's service and Jaybo's net play sealed the deal in the next game for an 0 and 4 win. Great job! Five Seasons played tough.
Next week is bye week and then at Paramount on May 22.
Good luck to the guys who hope to go further this year!
